Congratulations to VendScreen with their big announcement during the PIE Demo Day in Portland. Not only have they received $5 million in orders from their first two customers, they have received $12 million in funding from investors.
VendScreen makes an Android based product that retrofits into current vending machines. It allows for cashless transactions, provides nutritional information, as well as provides a new advertising platform. Watch the YouTube video of Paresh Patel’s presentation at the end of this post.

Great product idea and execution along with a killer presentation. Seldom do you see a new product idea that makes such good sense and can quickly improve an existing infrastructure. There’s a huge market in retrofitting smart controllers on to all those dumb vending machines. New brains for old iron!
